The whining continues. It has been so hot I swear I have lost about half my IQ points. And being a blonde, that is NOT a good thing. Luckily, today is supposed to be about 74° (yippiee!!!!) so maybe I can get some work done around here. And the other lucky thing is it has cooled off every evening to the 60's so we've gotten a little sleep.
I say "little" because the red-tailed hawk's offspring is STILL screeching from sunup to sundown. Poor parents must be worn to nubs from hunting down food. Too bad for the local mouse population (not).
Anyhooo. Not much of note going on. Finally got out my Urban Maille kit and started making one of the bracelets. Already frelled it up. Found a really cool beaded necklace pattern I decided to try. Ordered a bunch of beads to make bracelets with and neglected to check and see if I had all the "ingredients" for the necklace. I don't, of course. Bah.
Got hooked on the new "Battlestar Galactica" ... it is so good I will have to force/retrain myself from calling it "Battlestar Galaxative" which was my pejorative for the original. Since the SciFi friday lineup forces me to watch Stargate Atlantis I have decided to give it a second chence. We'll see how it does this season. Frankly, I got sick and tired of Dr. Weir being such a harridan. And I wouldn't have liked that character had it been written as a man, either. And I do NOT like the scientist guy who is such a weenie. But I like Joe Flanigan's character (mostly cause he's a smart ass and he looks like he hasn't combed his hair since the 6th grade ... sue me) and Rachel's character (see how much attention I paid?). I hate the stupid concept of the "wraith." Oh well.
And speaking of Stargate ... since Ben Browder joined the cast and Claudia Black is there as a "guest" (maybe the PTB will notice how good she is and keep her permanently) I'm forced to watch it as well. I'm already a little dismayed at how Browder's character seems to be a reincarnation of John Crichton from Farscape. And the first plot out of the gate is pitiful. But I'll keep watching because I like Browder and Black and Beau Bridges is now the General and Lou Gossett, Jr. is slated to appear as well.
So. That's my life to date. Playing Babble and watching the SciFi channel. I've never been so ready for cold weather. I MISS working. By the time evening comes around and it cools off enough to even think of lighting the torch and too tired to do it. I'm now looking forward to the new house with the BASEMENT as that should solve the heat related issues.
Well, I hear Joey stirring which means time to go to brunch. Later!
